A Grant Can Be Completed and Still Fail Zcash. How Do We Measure Real Impact?
ZCG already has an application review process, milestones and progress reporting. That’s important, but completing a milestone doesn’t necessarily mean a project has created lasting value for Zcash. A project can deliver everything it promised and still have very little impact a year later. I think we should consider introducing a Post-Grant Impact Review system. The idea is simple: 1. Review projects after 6 and 12 months Did the project continue operating? Is anyone still using what was created? Did it contribute to Zcash adoption, development or community growth? 2. Evaluate different projects differently A wallet, an educational program and a security research project shouldn’t be judged by the same metrics. For adoption projects, actual ZEC usage matters. For development projects, maintenance and real-world utility matter. For education, we should look beyond views and engagement. Privacy must also be respected. We shouldn’t require projects to collect persona
