How to Judge a No-KYC Exchange Before You Send Money
No account means no complaints department. Six concrete signals to check first.
Every no-KYC exchange runs on the same promise — fast, no registration — but they aren't all built the same. Before you send, check these six things; each takes under a minute.
1) Where does your deposit go? If it goes to an order-specific address that exists only for you, funds aren't pooled — you can't lose someone else's money and nobody can run off with a shared balance. If it goes to a static company wallet the service owns, that's a custody model: slower refunds if they go dark.
2) Is the rate fixed at order creation? Floating-rate quotes mean the amount you actually get is decided after you've sent. Fixed-rate means the payout is set at order time, before any money moves.
3) Are fees shown upfront or discovered at settlement? Some services quote a 'rate' that quietly includes a spread — check the fee line before you commit. (how Monero fees work)
4) What happens when an order fails? A trustworthy provider refunds to your deposit address automatically, without asking. If the refund flow needs human intervention, ask yourself who at the company is looking at it.
5) Do they hold your keys or your data? Non-custodial means you always control the payout address. A platform that requires signing up for an account to 'receive' funds is already asking you to trust them with both.
6) Does anything about the site feel manufactured? Inflated trustpilot-style badges, fabricated volume stats, fake 'recent trades' tickers — these are cheap to fake and a red flag. A platform confident in its numbers shows live quotes and doesn't need to decorate. (how Monero fees work)
